WWW,
February 2021 - Yes, there is a whole
technological story and philosophy behind
the working of the Convology XT Reverb
Plug-In, but that's not what this review is
about. This review is to draw your attention
to a fully professional reverb unit for use
in your DAW. VST, AAX or AU users: stop
using the built-in Reverb or that other free
Plug-In and get yourself a real reverb!
It leads
way too far to describe just what Impulse
Records has done to get their reverb unit
working, but it has to do with the use of
samples. It does not matter. This reverb
will give you everything. You will not find
a better spring reverb emulation for free
than this one, we over here at the Dubroom
tend to think. But
the digital reverb is equally
magnificent.
Convology
can also be used for some very cool digital
or analogue delay effects, various reverse
possibilities and more. Every thinkable
parameter can be tweaked in order to make
your own presets, but the factory presets
are already giving superb reverb and delay
effects.
The Plug-In
comes in three different formats. For this
review we used the VST version with Reason
11. It beats Reason's RV7000 built-in reverb
at every level, it beats all the available
free reverb Plug-In that we know, this is
simply a professional effect that would be
worth at least $100 or more.
Is there no
catch to this free Plug-In? Well, yes.
Impulse sells many more interesting presets,
close to 3000. Check it all out on their
website! You'll have to register to get your
free serial code.
