The
concept: let some of the best drummers play
complete tracks between three and five minutes.
Record everything on authentic
analogue multi-track recorders.
Even better.
Use a real Spring Reverb as well
as some other analogue effects that most
computer-based (DUB) Reggae producers can only
dream of.
Everything must be done in a real
studio, of course. By ones who know what they're
doing.
This is a job that suits the
people of On-U. And so they did: DRUMDROPS IN
DUB MULTI-TRACK VOLUME ONE was a success.
Equiped with skill and some of the
best analogue equipment, On-U engineer Mike
Pelanconi recorded the rhythms for the
modern digital (DUB) Reggae producer.
In DID1, Roots Radics drummer
Style Scott played some of the strongest rhythms
that will serve as the backbone for many great
musical works.
Can something be added to that?
Can that quality be at least be maintained? What
would DRUMDROPS add on top of Volume One?
Questions, questions. And they can
only be answered by checking out the product
itself.
And so we did.
